Is Date A Widower free?
Joining is free, and a free account is a real account. You can build your whole profile, browse members, get your daily matches, post to the feed, send a set number of messages each day and reply to anyone on VIP or VIP Plus. You can stay on it as long as you like. Paying is only for unlimited messaging and the extras below. Our page on free widow and widower dating explains exactly what the free account covers.
Plans that cost less the longer you stay
Both paid memberships come in five lengths. The shorter plans renew at the end of each period until you cancel; the 12-month plan is one payment and does not renew. Longer plans cost less per month: VIP is $39.95 for one month, works out at $31.65 a month on the 3-month plan, $21.66 a month over 6 months and $19.16 a month over a year.

Which plan suits you?
If you mostly want to talk freely with a few people you have found, VIP covers it: unlimited messages, advanced search, chat rooms and a list of everyone who likes you. VIP Plus is for people who want to be seen first, with your profile at the top of other members' daily matches and your messages and likes shown ahead of the queue. If you are unsure, stay on the free account until you have found someone you want to keep talking to.

Is there a free trial?
There is no trial as such, because the free account never runs out. You can keep it as long as you like.
Do plans renew automatically?
The 1-week, 1-month, 3-month and 6-month plans renew at the end of each period until you cancel. The 12-month plan is a single payment and does not renew.
What is the cheapest way to pay for VIP?
The 12-month plan, which works out at $19.16 a month, paid as one payment of $229.95 (£119.88 in the UK).
How do I cancel?
From your account settings, at any time. Paid features last until the end of the period you paid for, and your free account carries on after that.
Will a charge show the site's name?
Payments are handled on secure, encrypted systems. Nothing about your membership is shown to other members beyond what your own profile says.
